Requested by the owner to design a house that reflects tranquility and able to host the owner's children and grand children visits during weekends and holidays. 

In the preliminary design stage, we found that by inserting a curved form to juxtaposition with the overall elongated rectangle mass would create interesting dynamic to a static form. After readjusting and fine tuning the design, the position and the scale of the curved form. The combining forms merged into an astonishing result.

Looking from the entrance, the house is mostly enclosed with solid walls. The curved wall can be seen from this elevation showing the distinctive design.

A tatami area is introduced for its soft children-friendly surface and its multi-function usage. Placed along the glass facade facing the lake, the view and the ambient surrounding the tatami room is calm and graceful throughout the day.
